The Circle of Courage

The Circle of Courage model is now being adopted and applied to agencies, schools and institutions at an increasing speed. This model has been recognized as being pivotal to working with children and youth, turning defiance and risk into responsibility and resilience.

This workshop covers:

Putting the Circle into Practice

This session will show participants how to adapt the Circle of Courage model into daily practice, establishing a reclaiming environment. Develop your understanding and make the Circle of Courage a part of your being through practice and participation.


The Power Struggle/Compliance and Control

Avoiding a power struggle is not always an easy task. Working in the human services field is challenging and often emotionally charged.

In this session participants will learn:

This workshop is perfect for the new Child and Youth Worker who is struggling with how to regain control of themselves and situations that arise when they are working with challenging clients.


Relationship 101

The power of relationship is explored as it pertains to “connecting” with children, youth and families in conflict.

Team Dynamics

Is your team encountering trouble communicating? Having trouble resolving conflict? Not following through on plans or decisions? Going through the motions, yet not really getting anywhere?

Is it time to examine the dysfunctions (and functions) of your staff team?

This session will examine what is causing difficulty within your staff team and how to immediately address the issues and move forward as a high functioning team.

An expansive career in Child and Family Services, Youth Criminal Justice and Child and Youth Studies provides the basis for Michelle’s knowledge and expertise in the field of Human Services.

An experienced Manager who led teams of committed, long term and elite Child and Youth Care Workers; developed leading programs and has provided extensive staff training.
